- Work in isolation – cut out distractions, noise and time vampires. Time vampires are people or things that take away your time and focus from your core business..
- Allocate time slots for your work schedule (1 or 2 hours is enough to be productive and not get worn out) – these are blocks of uninterrupted time
In this time you must set a focused money making task list to complete
- Don’t answer your phone, or check texts or voicemails
- Don’t check emails
- Don’t communicate with friends or family – tell them you are working solid for two hours on a very important project

They say that if you got to the library and read one book on a topic, you will know more that 50% of the world’s population on that topic. If you then read 5 books on that subject, you will know more than 80%. If then do a specialist course at a university or train with a mentor you will be in the 1% of the worlds population who have this level on knowledge in this field.
If you then write your own book or publish your own paper in this field, you will be in the 0.01% of the world’s population with this credibility. You will then be an immediate authority in your field and can command a high price for your expertise.
- Become exactly specific about what you want.
You must be completely clear of what it is you want. People like confident experts who are masters of their craft. A jack of all trades is not as credible as a master of one!
- Make it a compelling goal
You will not take action and keep focused unless there is enough desire to attain your goal. The way to increase your desire is to set a seemingly impossible to reach goal. If you have financial aspirations, then set it to $1000,000 net profit your business will generate in 1 year. It is much more exciting to achieve that then if you just say, I want to make $2000 a month in one year.
- Get the best strategy, skills, insight, mentors, mastermind groups and knowledge.
All of the most successful entrepreneurs will tell you that their business achievement was fast tracked by learning from someone who had already achieved success in what they wanted to do. It is also true that you become your environment, if you surround yourself with low aspirational people who moan and complain all the time, then that is what you will become.
People like that are toxic to your own happiness and success. Avoid them at all costs. Many successful people will tell you that they found the most benefit by being in a mastermind group of likeminded people they could bounce ideas off and feel inspired by. Find the best mentors, masterminds, knowledge and tools you can to fast track and ensure your own success!

Paralysis From Analysis
I find this is more of a problem with people who have had some formal education from school or university. Some of my entrepreneurial friends who are very successful dropped out of school or university. They don’t tend to think too much about “will it work?, wont it work?, do the numbers add up?, is the market right?”
They just get on and do it, and if they cant do something, they go and learn how to do it from someone who does, or they hire an expert to do the job. I firmly believe that with the internet if you follow your heart first and then follow my guidelines for market research and niche selection, you cant go wrong with the numbers!
Fear of failure
Let look at failure in terms of pain. “What would be the pain if you were to never start and carried on with your present life?” “What would be the pain if you tried but failed first time? What would be the pleasure you would gain if you were to succeed?”
I know that being staying in my job as a pharmacist was so painful that I had to try anything I could to get out of it, whether I failed or not, I would keep trying. With the Internet it is so cheap to get started that you can actually test things out until you find a winning product. So that should eliminate the fear of failing as you can easily start again if you’re first thing didn’t work out.
This is so much better than if you were to try to start a bricks and mortar business that costs $50,000 + at least to get started. If that fails you genuinely could be screwed. But with an online business you can start it whilst you are still working, do it part time and keep testing things until you succeed for a truly minimal cost.
This is one of the big momentum killers many people face. Being a musician, it is one thing that has plagued my life. While it is a good idea to keep a high standard for yourself, it is a very bad idea to try and perfect your craft from day one.
You may have heard the saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day” If you try to get everything right before you start, you probably never will. It is near on impossible to get it all right first time.
It is better to make progress and then make improvements as you go along.
“Have you ever felt overwhelmed with too many things too do?” Don’t multi task. Focus on one area of your business and master it before your move on to your next.
If you work on 8 things at the same time, it’s going to take you 8 times as long to complete it. List your most valuable tasks to your business for the day then focus on each one and complete before you move onto smaller tasks that are often easier to do but add less value to your business in the long run.
